Contact Details For information on city-wide event registration, group volunteering opportunities, or special projects, please contact: Andrew Kowalewski AVP, Marketing and Communications Director Email: akowalewski@ymcapgh.org Safety & Onboarding Information The safety of our community, youth, and event participants is our highest priority. To ensure a safe and positive environment for everyone, we require our event volunteers to complete a few quick onboarding steps. During your profile registration in VolunteerMatters, you will be asked to: Review and acknowledge the Volunteer Liability and Code of Conduct Waiver. Complete a brief (15–18 minute) online Child Abuse Prevention Training course through The Redwoods Group. For Specific Roles: While many of our single-day community events do not require a background check, certain specialized roles (such as those working closely or one-on-one with youth) may require obtaining background clearances. ⚠️ Please Note: If your chosen event role requires a background check, please keep in mind that the processing time can take a bit of time to complete. These clearances must be fully approved prior to your shift. Please allow 24–48 hours for your registration application to be reviewed. We look forward to seeing you out in the community!
